DESCRIPTION:
Birge & Fuller., 30 hour, time and strike wagon spring steeple on frame or double steeple shelf clock, c1855.
CONDITION:
Mahogany veneered case in an old and possibly original finish. There is a small veneer repair to the two upper finial blocks and small chip on the back edge of the top. The bottom steeple finials might be possible replacements. The original painted dial is has some minor loss at the mounting pins, the winding arbors and at the center hole. The tablets look to be original. Hands are original. Nice label inside the case. The chain for the strike side is detached from from the spring lever. Although a catalog item by 1855, very few 30-hour wagon springs were sold, and they are uncommon. Ht 24"
